Birthday Celebration Events
What: 31st Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration
City of Dallas activities celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. King will be held this weekend. The theme is: “Remember! Celebrate! Act! Passing On the Dream …”
Activities are free, except for the Awards Banquet.
When/Where: Friday, January 18, 2013 – Candle-Lighting Ceremony

Presented by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Saturday, January 19, 2013 – Martin Luther King, Jr. March/Parade, 10:00 a.m.
The march/parade will assemble at City Hall Plaza and conclude inside Fair Park at the MLK Blvd. entrance. Participants will include bands, floats, community/civic groups, churches and a live broadcast featuring Radio One’s, 97.9/94.5 personalities.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Awards Banquet 7:30 p.m.
The Hyatt Regency Hotel Dallas – 300 Reunion Blvd, Dallas, Keynote Speaker: John Hope Bryant, Founder and CEO of Operation HOPE Foundation.
