Tonight Shirley Murdock is featured on the Season Premiere of Life After and I had a chance to catch up with the award-winning gospel artist. Murdock revealed that she wasn’t the first person to sing her hit “As We Lay”.
The song was performed originally from a man’s point of view by Roger Troutman’s group “Human Body” but she did put her stamp on it. “I knew it was a hit because it reflected everyday life”, Murdock said.
But I had a problem with it…..nobody was sorry about that thing”. “So I added, we should have counted up the cost but instead we got lost in the second in the moment in the hour”. Murdock said, “before you lay we need to pray”. Can I get an AMEN?
