Before Lance Armstrong admitted to using illegal enhancement drugs, his accomplishments seemed superhuman. Then again, something as relatively simple as riding a bike after being diagnosed with stage three testicular cancer would seem amazing. Armstrong, even after being given a 40 percent chance at living, went on to win the Tour De France five consecutive times. A 2012 investigation turned up results that devastated his career. Among the illegal enhancements found in his blood stream were the blood-booster EPO, steroids and blood transfusions dating back to 1996.
Armstrong vehemently denied the allegations…until he sat down with Oprah! “I will start my answer by saying this is too late. It’s too late for probably most people. And that’s my fault. I view this situation as one big lie that I repeated a lot of times. It wasn’t as if I said no and I moved off it,” he confessed during the interview.
This isn’t the first time Oprah has drawn the truth or the unsaid out of people. When celebrities sit in her presence, it seems their deepest, darkest secrets grow a mind of their own and revolt against being sheltered.
Whitney Houston Admits To Using Drugs
In 2001, Whitney Houston appeared on the “Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary Special,” she always had a thin frame, but clearly something was very wrong. Tabloids ran stories calling our beloved “voice” a crack head, anorexic and claimed she was on her deathbed. In 2002, she denied the controversial accusations in the famous Diane Sawyer interview where the saying “Crack is wack” was born. But Whitney was blatantly lying and it took her seven years to confess that she smoked crack through marijuana cigarettes, in an interview with Oprah.
“Lacing marijuana with cocaine,” is how Whitney and Bobby Brown would get high. But we also found out it was a way to deal with the emotional and verbal abuse she would suffer by the man she loved the most. “I was so weak,” she revealed.
