Rangers Will Miss Josh Hamilton In The Seattle series

SEATTLE — The Rangers will be without Josh Hamilton this weekend in Seattle. The outfielder returned to Texas on Friday for tests on his blurred vision, and the team decided to keep him there through the weekend.

the warning signs came before Thursday’s series finale against the Angels. Manager Ron Washington said Hamilton was falling off balance while taking grounders. He then had trouble judging fly balls, and that was the last straw.

“Once we saw that, we got him off the field,” Washington said. “We aren’t messing with that.”

Doctors have not identified a clear cause for the symptoms.

Adrian Beltre also will miss Friday’s game against the Mariners, but should return to the lineup Saturday.

Beltre, who has been battling intestinal issues, missed Wednesday’s game against the Angels but persuaded Washington to let him play Thursday. It paid huge dividends, as the All-Star belted a go-ahead, two-run homer in the ninth inning.
