DeSoto resident, Florinstene Johnson is one of four healthcare professionals appointed by (R) Gov Rick Perry to the Texas Health Council on Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke according to The Dallas Weekly.
Floristene Johnson is an adjunct instructor of Dietary Management at Tarrant County College and retired deputy of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Aging. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Texas and Dallas academies of Nutrition and Dietetics; and is an alumnus of the Phi Upsilon Omicron Honor Society. Johnson graduated from Southern University at Baton Rouge and holds a master’s from Colorado State University in food science and nutrition.
She also is a member of The Links, Inc. Trinity Chapter and Southern University Alumni Federation and undergraduate adviser of Paul Quinn College Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
